Every web designer gets asked this, and the honest answer really does depend on the size of the project and how quickly you can provide content. But that’s not a satisfying answer, so here’s a realistic breakdown by project type.
Simple managed sites: 2–4 weeks
A straightforward 5-page site with clear content and a template-based structure can typically go live within a few weeks of the project starting, assuming text and images are ready to go.
Bespoke websites: 6–12 weeks
Custom design, ecommerce, or booking systems require more design time, development time and testing. Anything involving payment integration or complex functionality should be given proper time to be built and tested thoroughly, not rushed.
